May is a magical month; evenings are lighter, days warmer, the earth is fecund and life of all varieties is abundant in joy. It’s the time when we begin to see the bounty of the Goddess in all its glory, and all these properties are represented in our festival of Beltaine.

The May festival of Beltaine marks the start of summer, and so it has been celebrated by our ancestors since ancient times, helping to ensure a fertile year for their land, crops, livestock and themselves. The Beltaine rituals of The Spiral Labyrinth are joyous and liberating, paying homage to the Lord and Lady and the wonders of nature around and within us.

We celebrated this year with an indoor ritual and with an outdoor meditation, connecting with the natural world to the sounds of crackling Bel fires.
This is the time of new life
And as Our Lady of the Moon
Draws ever nearer to Our Lord the Sun
That She May devour Him
So He might return
Bringing new life
To all the land
